H1N1 Information

Influenza and Grebel

On behalf of all the staff and faculty at Conrad Grebel University College, I want to assure you that we are taking seriously our efforts to protect against the spread of influenza within the Grebel community. Students are being asked to:

  • wash or sanitize hands frequently
  • sneeze into their sleeves or tissues
  • stay away from someone who has flu-like symptoms
  • avoid sharing common items (telephones, dishes, utensils, pens/pencils, computer keyboards, etc.)
  • self isolate if they have flu-like symptoms (in some cases, go home for a few days)

Our custodial staff have increased their sanitization and cleaning protocol paying special attention to high traffic areas such as door handles, light switches, taps and sinks, handrails in stairwells, tables, desks, etc.

Conrad Grebel University College is following closely the influenza procedures and guidelines as laid out by the University of Waterloo. Please follow this link to find details about vaccination schedules and to learn more about how students are being advised to deal with class absences, missed exams, etc.

As President of the College I appreciate your concern about the well being of our students, faculty, and staff.

Please don’t hesitate to call me directly at 519-885-0220 x24237
or speak to Jim Panktratz, our Dean, at x24232
or Mary Brubaker-Zehr, Director of Student Services, at x24235.

Henry Paetkau, President
